Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actor, singer, and model. She was the main female singer in Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. It was among the many female performers who gained from Prince's collaboration during the 1980s. The actress was born Patricia Kotero in Santa Monica California in 1959 her career began as a model actress by the end of the '70s including an appearance on the television show CHiPS. In 1984, Patricia Kotero was cast as the leading woman in the movie Prince's Purple Rain. (During this time period, she also changed her name.) Her replacement was Vanity as a member of the female trio Vanity 6 who starred in the movie with Apollonia 6 under their name. The singer made a bigger impression on the charts when she was Prince's partner in Take Me with You, the duet on the soundtrack. Kotero cut ties with Prince when they had an argument over the course of their careers. Apollonia 6 broke up following their disagreement. The singer then appeared in few minor films in the 1980s (reportedly not accepting the opportunity to appear in the Purple Rain-follow-up Under the Cherry Moon), before settling on a night-time role in the film Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia could finally launch her debut album in the year 1988. However, the album didn't leave a lasting impression on music lovers and was soon obliterated from the scene. Apollonia continued to act (if somewhat under the radar) during the subsequent decade. Her small TV roles small films and exercise videos kept her busy. In 1997, Apollonia made a record in English and Spanish entitled Stay with Me. After that, she went back to college and received a degree in filmmaking as well as a production firm, which mainly focuses on television for children.
