Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly songs that dealt with sexual identity and race with a boldly comedic perspective before increasing her presence in Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical experience. She performed on the trumpet. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. While in college, she took classes in writing and women's studies. In addition, she spent an hour studying Mandarin at the University of Beijing. She didn't start focusing on music until the time she graduated. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The other viral hit songs included queef song and the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The single that debuted was specifically linked to Awkwafinas NYC, her 2015 travel guide. She opted to pursue acting careers after having completed her two previous ventures as a musician and author. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors as well as Storks. In 2018, she landed an array of noteworthy performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP In Fina We Trust.
